Incredible footages on the Indochina war

The effect of colors on this old footages make them so much more « real » 60 years later...

I personally found the images on 2.33 min very impressive and of course all the herculean works to bring the guns up the jungle mountain.

On May 7th 1954, the garnison of the fortified camp of Dien Bien Phu ceased the fight against General Giap Vietminh army after an heroic resistance. So ended an epic struggle begon 170 days earlier with the landing of the first French paratroopers on the site of Dien Bien Phu. Altough not marking the end of the war in French Indochina, this cataclysmic defeat suppressed in most Frenchmen their will to fight. Soon they will be engaged in another bitter conflict in Algeria.

This blog has certainly no claim to be exhaustive on the French Indochina conflict. Rather, it is a collection of bits and pieces of everything that could be useful for those wishing to purchase our new line of figurines, whether simply to paint them or for them to play their roles in a good wargame.
